Critical Race Theory would this make Black Lives Matter happy.

Updated: Jul 30, 2021

Green Text signifies a link.

I believe the atrocities of the past must be taught so don't happen again, Critical Race Theory appears to judge whites based on the color of their skin.

Martin Luther King said : "I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

NFL will be playing Black National Anthem instead of US Anthem, shouldn't it be one Nation one Anthem.

I believe Racism should be eliminated, the question is how. I think Critical Race Theory (CRT) is going to create more problems then it solves. CRT blames the dominant culture it does no focus on the why, how, or what in human nature that leads to racism or prejudice.

The Utah Black Lives Matter Chapter claims the American Flag is Racist, this post is in response to that claim.

This post presumes you are aware of the current Critical Race Theory controversy.

Critical race theory (CRT) is an academic movement of civil-rights scholars and activists in the United States who seek to critically examine the law as it intersects with issues of race and to challenge mainstream liberal approaches to racial justice. CRT examines social, cultural and legal issues as they relate to race and racism.

One part of Critical Race Theory (CRT) is based on dominant culture this experiment has failed it is called Liberia.

If you can cut the people off from their history, then they can be easily persuaded.

Karl Marx

How does critical race theory explain electing Blacks to Public Office, most recently a Black Vice President (female) and before that a Black President? How does CRT explain Booker T Washington, George Washington Carver, Jackie Robinson playing professional baseball, Oprah Winfery and LeBron James financial success or that woman who are fifty percent of America's population generally earn less then men.

We need to get along, and move on, there are more important issues facing America and the World today (Global Warming, Pandemics, Terrorism, etc). Maybe CRT is just a way to distract us, Stephen Hawkins felt there was little time left before the Extinction of Humanity (a very chilling thought when thinking about your children or grand children).

If they want to teach CRT then they can include the study of Liberia, to show that it is not just one race that can have racist (prejudicial policies), that racism has no boundaries. They can also include other places this has occurred, the treatment of the Chinese and Koreans by the Japanese in World War II comes to mind. How the Nazis started with the Jews then added to their list of who was undesirable.

CRT comes across as a we versus they, which never works it creates animosity. As Martin Luther King felt people should be judged on their character and not skin color. I believe change can come about using the principles employed by Martin Luther King and Ghandi.

There is a tendency when to hurt back to punish those that have hurt us. Hate and retribution will not change the past nor will it make for a better future, the cycle will just continue.

We have to be careful least this turns into a witch hunt like the Salem Witch Trials (McCarthyism, Chinese Cultural Purge, French Revolution Purge, Spanish Inquisition), where it only took an allegation to condemn a person.

There is the claim the English Language is Racist. There is another claim Blacks can not be Racists. If a Black speaks English well does that make him a racist and if so what type of racist (What does CRT say about that).

Please note it is says Critical Race Theory not Critical Race Science. One definition of theory is: an idea or opinion that is presented as true. Another definition of theory is: an unproved assumption. Theory is a scientifically credible general principle that explains a phenomenon whereas the principle is a basic truth, rule or law. Is CRT credible and can it really be called a theory.

What principle is CRT basing it's theory on?

Is all CRT reverse racism? I don't know I have only found one video on CRT being taught and it comes across as reverse racism.

The fallacy and error in CRT logic is blaming it on the dominant culture and not the dominant power and where power is derived from. In Liberia the liberated Blacks from America became they dominant culture and dominant power.

Nazis German was racist how would CRT explain what the dominant culture was. Was it the dominant culture or the dominant power that made the Nazis German Racist. I am unable to define a dominant culture in Nazis Germany

American Blacks were the dominant force from the creation of Liberia, Americo-Liberians formed into a small elite that held disproportionate political power; indigenous Africans were excluded from birthright citizenship in their own land until 1904.

The same thing CRT says the white culture did to blacks, is the same thing a dominant black culture did to other black cultures that were less dominant. Maybe it is just an inherent trait in humanity.

I was taught about the Jim Crowe laws, the lynching of blacks in school, the rise of the KKK, and the segregation policies, Tulsa Oklahoma came as no surprise.

Different Races have different views of what racism is, some view racism as inequality and some view it as inequity.

Karl Marx (Communist Manifesto) wrote: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs"

Equity versus Equality versus Justice.

  • Equality is providing the same level of opportunity and assistance to all segments of society, such as races and genders.

  • Equity is providing various levels of support and assistance depending on specific needs or abilities. (Very similar to what Karl Marx said in Communist Manifesto)

  • Justice is the establishment or determination of rights according to the rules of law or equity.

The above picture, note more then one race and gender included.

This picture could be considered racist as it could imply only blacks suffer from equality, equity, liberation and inclusion. I have said if we look hard enough we will always find something wrong, I think the picture above provides a good example.

We can not see the fans in the stands, is the inclusion only for the players or does it include the fans in the stands as well.

I think looking for micro-aggressions is example of looking hard enough to find something. It seems as in today's American Society people are looking too hard for something to offend them.

While there might be some humor, You decide is there racism?

I don't consider the English Language Racist. I harbor no ill will that the spelling of my last name was changed to reflect how it was pronounced in English, others changed the pronunciation to reflect how it was spelled in English.

What should not be forgotten is that permitting slavery was a compromise, the States that believed slavery was wrong, knew they could not win a War against England without all the Colonies.

How long would slavery have continued without American Independence, England did not Abolish Slavery until 1833.

June 2, 1964 President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, Apartheid continued in South Africa until 1994.

Perhaps changing some of the stripes to a different color to reflect the number of states that opposed slavery should be incorporated into the flag or maybe a change in view point, that although not everyone was free America has progressed to the point where all were free.

It is believed before his death Washington freed all his slaves, how does CRT explain this?

Instead of changing a name they, hyphenate the name, as a reminder of the segregation policies and where we are today. For example instead of changing the name of Fort Hood it could be hyphenated to Fort Hood - MLK.

The concentration camps of the Nazis were not torn down they are left as a reminder of what happened, history can be written and has been written, physical reminders are necessary. There are some who claimed the Holocaust never happened, the concentration camp memorials serves as a reminder the Holocaust did happen.

A middle ground must be found this is not the answer either see the following link:

Food for thought:

Perception can be reality, how do we change the perception.

There are to many things Critical Race Theory does not address or can not address that do not make it a viable theory. A theory is s systematic statement of principles involved what principles does Critical Race Theory use, does Critical Race Theory have a set of defined principles?

If you don't think what happened in Germany can happen here watch the videos in the link: Rise of the Nazis | PBS

George Lakey in his 1973 book[9] and in his 1976 "A Manifesto for Nonviolent Revolution",[10] laid out a five-stage strategy for nonviolent revolution.[11]

Stage 1 – Cultural Preparation or "Conscientization": Education, training and consciousness raising of why there is a need for a nonviolent revolution and how to conduct a nonviolent revolution. (Would CRT fall under this - Education?)

Stage 2 – Building Organizations: As training, education and consciousness raising continues, the need to form organizations. Affinity groups or nonviolent revolutionary groups are organized to provide support, maintain nonviolent discipline, organize and train other people into similar affinity groups and networks.

Stage 3 – Confrontation: Organized and sustained campaigns of picketing, strikes, sit-ins, marches, boycotts, die-ins, blockades to disrupt business as usual in institutions and government. By putting one's body on the line nonviolently the rising movement stops the normal gears of government and business. (BLM Protests?)

Stage 4 – Mass Non Cooperation: Similar affinity groups and networks of affinity groups around the country and world, engage in similar actions to disrupt business as usual. (Sanctuary Cities?)

Stage 5 – Developing Parallel Institutions to take over functions and services of government and commerce. In order to create a new society without violence, oppression, environmental destruction, discrimination and one that is environmentally sustainable, nonviolent, democratic, equitable, tolerant, and fair, alternative organizations and structures including businesses must be created to provide the needed services and goods that citizens of a society need. (Defund the Police?)

More Food for Thought

“It’s not about where we came from, it’s about where we’re going,” Schatzline said. “And as long as we’re pointing back and staring at the ugly nature of what slavery was — and making this a today problem when it was actually a problem that we overcame — then we’re going to stay in this oppressed vs. oppressor mindset. And it’s causing division in different people. It’s causing people to hate white people.”

Prohibited Street Sign

If we fail to send troops is this white Racism for failing to support a Black Democracy?

Is there a connection between Marxism and how CRT is taught?

“Major social change is not possible without revolution. Bourgeois revolutions overthrew feudal society, e.g., the French Revolution. Marxists insist that dominant classes will not voluntarily give up power, wealth and privilege. Their control has to be taken away from them, and this might have to involve violence.”

Racism can be Personal, Social or Institutional

They no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance in many schools because it references God, then take it out and it is no longer religious issue (I think it should be left in) and some will say there is not justice for all then take that out (I think it should be left in).

If someone is unwilling to Pledge Allegiance to the United States, who are they Pledging their Allegiance to?

The reworked pledge without a reference to God or Justice.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, indivisible, with liberty for all."
